New Regulations amend the Data Protection (Notification and Notification Fees) Regulations 2000. The effect is that FE and HE institutions that are not charities with 250 or more members of staff or a have a turnover of £25.9 million - will be required to pay the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) an annual notification fee of £500 with effect from 1st October. The current fee of £35 remains for smaller institutions and those that are registered as charities.
