JISC Legal - Privacy Statement
JISC Legal recognises the importance of protecting the privacy of anyone who uses the JISC Legal services including visiting this website. This Privacy Statement sets out the policy adopted by JISC Legal towards the collection and use of information obtained from those using the JISC Legal services. Although the JISC Legal website may be hosted by a third party, all information will be collected and used by JISC Legal as set out in this Privacy Statement. By visiting or using this website and/or other JISC Legal services, you consent to the collection and use by JISC Legal of information about you in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Statement.

JISC Legal will:

Information Collected
1. Indirect collection and use of cookies
The JISC Legal web server automatically collects standard information such as a user's IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, etc.. Cookies are small electronic files which a website can transfer to a user's hard drive to identify a user and personalise their use of that website. JISC Legal uses Google Analytics, and by such, uses cookies to provide aggregated usage data of the JISC Legal website. JISC Legal does not use cookies to customise web page content.
Any information collected indirectly will be used by JISC Legal only:- to monitor the volume, type and pattern of traffic using this website; to develop the design and layout of the website; and for other administrative and planning purposes.
2. Direct collection:
JISC Legal collects personal information, such as a user's name and email address, which is provided voluntarily by a user when requesting any of the services provided by JISC Legal. JISC Legal retains such information in a user database.
All enquiries to JISC Legal, whether by email, telephone, facsimile or otherwise may be recorded for the purposes of quality control. JISC Legal will use such information as provided by you to answer enquiries and otherwise communicate with you. All communications from you and subsequent correspondence from JISC Legal will be recorded and securely retained by JISC Legal. JISC Legal shall not retain the contents of any communications from you and subsequent correspondence for longer than is necessary having regard to the content and nature of such communications and correspondence. Contact details including your email address may be retained for the purposes of generally improving the services offered by JISC Legal. This includes evaluation of the services provided by JISC Legal.
Any information collected directly from users or visitors may be used by JISC Legal for generally improving this website and the services offered by JISC Legal.
Where you have provided your email address, JISC Legal may occasionally send you, via email, information which JISC Legal considers would be of use or interest to you.
