University Wins £44,000 in IPR Case
The Hebrew University in Jerusalem has been awarded £44,000 as compensation for a breach of its intellectual property rights.  The University is the heir and owner of all rights pertaining to Albert Einstein's estate, including the rights to use his image. A company continued to use a picture of Einstein in an advertising campaign, without permission, and has now been ordered to compensate the rights owner.  This serves as a reminder to colleges and universities that while often the challenge is clearing other people’s rights, exploiting intellectual property is also vital.  More on this story can be found at: http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/story.asp?sectioncode=26&storycode=405071&c=1
