FOI and Student Work (01/12/2005)

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (or, in Scotland , the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002) places an obligation on public authorities to disclose information they hold upon a request, unless it is exempt information. Universities and colleges are included in the definition of 'public authorities', and in certain circumstances, student work can be the subject of a valid freedom of information (FOI) request, as it will be held by your institution.  The paper can be accessed in pdf format here - FOI and Student Work.
