Government Proposal for the Implementation of Digital Britain (28/08/2009)

On 16 June 2009, the Government published the Digital Britain Final Report which contained over 70 actions, the majority of which require further action to implement. However, implementation may not be complete until 2012. Poposals include a system designed to deal with orphan works and the introduction of legislation providing Ofcom with more power to deal with file sharers. It is important that FE and HE institutions are aware of such change in order to keep on top of their copyright responsibilities. You can access the report here: http://www.culture.gov.uk/images/publications/DB_ImplementationPlanv6_Aug09.pdf.
