Results of Section 61 FOISA Survey (18/08/2009)

The Freedom of Information Unit at the Scottish Government has produced a summary report of responses to the survey issued to review and update Section 61 Code of Practice on Records Management. Eleven responses were received from various parties, including the University of Edinburgh. Recommendations included further clarification of the Scottish Information Commissioner's role, simplification of the code and an explanation on how it will be enforced and monitored. The next step is to form a working party (with an emphasis on widening the audience) to take account of the survey results in taking this forward. The full summary of results will be available soon on the Scottish Government's website:http://www.scotland.gov.uk.
