NHS Trusts Reprimanded Over Data Loss

Five NHS Trusts have been criticised by the Information Commissioner's Office over the loss of sensitive personal data relating to their patients.  The sensitive personal data was found left on a bus, and unencrypted data was also found in laptops stolen from the Trusts.  This is a reminder to institutions to incorporate effective data protection measures as part of good governance and have in place adequate procedures to protect personal information.  The story is available at  http://www.out-law.com/default.aspx?page=10170
