Five NHS Trusts have been criticised by the Information Commissioner's Office over the loss of sensitive personal data relating to their patients. The sensitive personal data was found left on a bus, and unencrypted data was also found in laptops stolen from the Trusts. This is a reminder to institutions to incorporate effective data protection measures as part of good governance and have in place adequate procedures to protect personal information.
