UCISA Information Security Toolkit (UK)
JISC has worked with UCISA (Universities and Colleges Information Systems Association) to produce an Information Security Toolkit aimed at assisting educational establishments to protect themselves, their staff and students from online threats. Computer Crime Overview (UK)
The Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) produced a briefing document in October 2006 on computer crime. It provides a general overview, with an indication of the legislation and policy initiatives to combat it. Data Encryption Overview (UK)
The Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) produced a briefing document in October 2006 on data encryption. It provides an outline of the various encryption techniques, how they may be applied and some discussion of government initiatives under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act to help criminal investigations deal with encrypted data. Charter for System and Network Administrators - prepared by Andrew Cormack, CSA, at UKERNA (UK)
The charter is aimed at three groups:at users who wish to know the powers of administrators and to be assured that these will not be abused; at administrators themselves who are often concerned about the legality and implications of their actions; at managers in order to understand what the reasonable requirements of the administrators' job are and what activities they will be required to support.

Cyber-Rights and Cyber-Liberties (UK)
A non-profit civil liberties organisation, founded 1997. It aims to promote free speech and privacy on the Internet and to raise public awareness of these important issues. It started to become involved with national Internet-related civil liberties issues following the release of the DTI white paper on encryption in June 1996. Includes full text responses to government policy and legislation.

National Fraud Information Center (NFIC) (US)
The NFIC was established in 1992, by the National Consumers League, in the United States, with the purpose of fighting telemarketing fraud, by improving prevention and enforcement. The Internet Fraud Watch section of the NFIC Web site provides tips, articles, bulletins and other information to avoid fraud, protect privacy, and navigate the Net safely.

National Hi-tech Crime Unit (NHTCU) and SOCA (UK)
The NHTCU aimed to combat computer-based crime. It worked with law enforcement experts selected from the National Crime Squad, the National Criminal Intelligence Service, HM Customs and Excise and police forces. It was integrated into the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) on 1st April 2006.
