The House of Commons Justice Select Committee has called for written evidence to help in its scrutiny of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Evidence may be provided in other areas, but the particular issues the Committee invites evidence on are:
- Does the Freedom of Information Act work effectively?
- What are the strengths and weaknesses of the Freedom of Information Act?
- Is the Freedom of Information Act operating in the way that it was intended to?
This provides colleges and universities with the opportunity to provide evidence of their own experiences with the legislation.
The deadline for submission is 3 February 2012 and details on submission requirements are available from the website of the UK Parliament Commons Select Committee
The post legislative report as highlighted in the JISC Legal news item of 21 December 2011 is available at http://www.justice.gov.uk/publications/policy/moj/post-legislative-scrutiny-foi.htm
