New Education Act Confirms the Importance of e-Safety

The Education Act 2011 has now received royal assent and most of its provisions are likely to be introduced in the next two months.

The Act will focus the inspection of schools in what the government is stating are four ‘core’ areas , one of which is behaviour and safety. It is already established that safety includes e-safety and this highlights the need for schools and colleges to have procedures in place which are regularly reviewed to ensure that e-safety is included as part of safeguarding learners in schools and colleges.
