New Open Metadata Principles Launched

HE and FE institutions are being invited to sign-up to a new set of open metadata principles.  The principles were devised by the JISC-funded Discovery taskforce, who believe that unlocking metadata about digital content, articles, books and research will benefit educators and researchers.  JISC has already signed-up to the commitment to make metadata more accessible, alongside various other organisations including The British Library, The National Archives, and University College London.

JISC Legal has various guidance available on open data.  Please see the Themes and Legal Areas sections of our website for further information on how open data relates to specific areas.
