Copyright Laws Fit for Internet Age

A recent official announcement by David Cameron states UK intellectual property laws are to be reviewed to make them “fit for the internet age”.  He suggests that changes will be made to allow greater use of copyright material without the owner’s permission.  This has already sparked polar debate between internet campaigners and film and music industries.  Cameron also mentioned the more relaxed US IP laws as potential benchmarks saying he wants to “encourage the sort of creative innovation that exists in America”. This six month review will report in April 2011 and will recommend changes to UK law with regard to enforcing copyright in the UK and Internationally and internet based business models.  For more information read here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-11695416
