Should we have a separate e-Safety policy or can we include this in our Safeguarding policy?

Again, this is a decision for the college or university. What matters is that issues, procedures and guidance associated with safe online practices are addressed by institutions. Whether this is part of the wider safeguarding policy or not, is unlikely to be an issue. However, where e-Safety matters have not previously been addressed or fully considered, it might be more effective in having separate policies in order to highlight e-safety guidance and put in place relevant procedures and ‘rules’ to empower learners to become safe and responsible users of ICT. How successfully institutions are meeting their legal duties can then be assessed by the appropriate inspectorate.
