A man has been jailed for snooping in on police databases to collect information for terrorists. The man has been found guilty of collecting information which is likely to be useful to terrorists and misconduct in public office. It is likely that many crimes like these could also be committed through FE and HE computer systems, and institutions should be aware that information security is not simply a technical question, but needs to consider who and why staff have access.
