Legal Issues Web 2.0

What are the legal issues surrounding Web 2.0 and particularly the use of social software by those working and studying in FE and HE?

First of all, there are a variety of issues concerning Intellectual Property Rights and in particular ownership rights – who owns the information when it is collaboratively created?  Other legal issues include data protection and liability.  Further, the ability of the institution to meet its requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 including adequate accessibility - can this be affected by Web 2.0?  Finally, there is the risk that Web 2.0 opens systems up to more use which could create a platform for more abuse.  The question here is whether institutions have in place adequate e-security measures to cope with such potential abuse.
